2. OBJECTIVE AND SUMMARY
Brief Description:
We are seeking dedicated Tomato Pickers to join our team for the upcoming harvest season. This role involves working outdoors in a fast-paced environment to ensure the timely collection of ripe tomatoes. Ideal candidates will be physically fit and able to work long hours under varying weather conditions.
Objective:
The primary objective of this position is to efficiently harvest tomatoes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Successful candidates will contribute to the overall productivity of the farm and support the team in achieving harvest goals.
3. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs) AND TARGETS
| Sales and Revenue | Contribute to achieving 100% of harvest targets. |
| Order Fulfilment | Ensure timely delivery of harvested tomatoes to processing facilities. |
| Safety | Maintain a zero-accident record during the harvest season. |
| Product Quality | Achieve 95%+ quality rating for harvested tomatoes. |
| Staff Performance | Support a team performance rating of 90%+ in productivity. |
4. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Strategy
- Participate in daily briefings to understand harvest targets.
- Follow instructions for optimal picking techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to maximize efficiency.
Operational Coordination
- Assist in setting up and maintaining harvesting equipment.
- Report any issues with equipment or crops to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of harvested tomatoes.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety training sessions as required.
Quality Control
- Inspect tomatoes for ripeness and quality before harvesting.
- Remove any damaged or unripe tomatoes from the harvest.
- Ensure proper packing standards are followed.
Staff Management
- Work collaboratively with fellow pickers to achieve team goals.
- Assist in training new staff on harvesting techniques.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on team performance.
